Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (also known simply as Borat) is a 2006 mockumentary comedy film directed by Larry Charles and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It was written, produced by, and stars the British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen in the title role of a fictitious Kazakh journalist travelling through the United States, recording real-life interactions with Americans. It is the second film built around one of Cohen's characters from Da Ali G Show, following Ali G Indahouse, which also featured a cameo by Borat.

Despite a limited initial release in the United States, the satire was a critical and commercial success. Cohen won the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor: Musical or Comedy, as Borat, while the film was nominated for Best Motion Picture in the same category. Borat was also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 79th Academy Awards.

Jackass 2.5 contains never before seen footage from the cast.^[12] The DVD was released on December 26, 2007. Special features on the DVD include the making of Jackass 2.5, the making of Jackass: The Game, deleted scenes and a photo gallery.

The Godfather is a 1972 drama film based on the 1969 novel of the same name by Mario Puzo and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, with a screenplay by Puzo, Coppola, and an uncredited Robert Towne. It stars Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall and Diane Keaton, and features Richard S. Castellano, Abe Vigoda and Sterling Hayden. The story spans ten years from 1945 to 1955 and chronicles the Italian-American Corleone crime family.

The Godfather received Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay, and has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. In addition, it is ranked as the second greatest film in American cinematic history, behind Citizen Kane on the AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movies (10th Anniversary Edition) list by the American Film Institute.^[2] It is also ranked as #1 on Metacritic's top 100 list and in the top 10 on Rotten Tomatoes' all-time best list.

Two sequels followed The Godfather: The Godfather Part II in 1974, and The Godfather Part III in 1990.

Unlike most sitcoms, The Office is shot in a single-camera setup, without a studio audience or a laugh track, and is made in the form of a documentary, or "mockumentary". It depicts the everyday lives of office employees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Although fictional and scripted, the show takes the form of a documentary, with the presence of the camera openly acknowledged.

The Big Lebowski is a 1998 American comedy film written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. Jeff Bridges plays Jeffrey Lebowski, a burnt-out, unemployed Los Angeles slacker, who calls himself "The Dude." He is commissioned to deliver a million dollars in ransom money and to recover a kidnapped trophy wife after he is mistaken for a millionaire with the same name (David Huddleston). The plans go haywire and The Dude's friend Walter (John Goodman) further complicates the ordeal. Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, and Tara Reid also star in the film. The film's overall structure has been compared to, if not out-and-out inspired, by Raymond Chandler's novel The Big Sleep. The original score was composed by Carter Burwell, a longtime collaborator of the Coen Brothers.

While not a commercial success (the film grossed only $17 million domestically, just above its $15 million budget), it received generally positive reviews from critics. Known for its idiosyncratic characters, surreal dream sequences, unconventional dialogue and eclectic soundtrack, The Big Lebowski has become a cult classic and has been called "the first cult film of the Internet era".^[1] Fans' devotion to the film has even spawned the Lebowski Fest, an annual festival that started in Louisville, Kentucky in 2002, and has since expanded to several other cities.

Reservoir Dogs is the 1992 debut feature film of director and writer Quentin Tarantino. It portrays what happened before and after a botched jewel heist, but not the heist itself. Reservoir Dogs stars an ensemble cast with Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Chris Penn, Steve Buscemi and Lawrence Tierney. Tarantino also has a minor role, as does criminal-turned-author Eddie Bunker. It incorporates many themes and aesthetics that have become Tarantino's hallmarks: violent crime, pop culture references, memorable dialogue with excessive profanity and a nonlinear storyline.

The film has become a classic of independent film and a cult hit. It was named "Greatest Independent Film of all Time" by Empire. Reservoir Dogs was generally well received and the cast was praised by many critics. Although it never became a major box office success grossing $2,832,029, it achieved higher popularity after the success of Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. It is often criticized for its high amount of violence and profanity, and audience members reportedly walked out during the infamous ear-cutting scene.

A soundtrack titled Reservoir Dogs: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was released featuring songs used in the film, mostly from the 1970s. In 2006, a video game was released to mediocre reviews. The video game—like the film—caused controversy for its violence.

The film, directed by David R. Ellis (Final Destination 2, Cellular), was written by David Dalessandro, John Heffernan, and Sheldon Turner.

The movie gained a considerable amount of attention before its release, forming large fan bases online and becoming an Internet phenomenon, due to the film's title and premise. In response to the Internet fan base, New Line Cinema incorporated feedback from online users into its production, and added five days of reshooting. Before and after the film was released, it was parodied and alluded to on television shows and films, fan-made videos, video games, a noise album dubbed Soundtrack for the Motion Picture Snakes on a Plane, and various forms of literature. Despite the immense Internet buzz, the film's gross revenue did not live up to expectations.

The film is rated R by the MPAA, 15 by the BBFC, M by the OFLC and 14A by the CHVRS, due to explicit language, a scene depicting drug use and sex, and sequences of terror and violence.

Death Proof is a 2007 film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, about a psychopathic stunt man who targets young women, murdering them with his "death proof" stunt car. The film, a tribute to the muscle car movie genre of the 1970s, stars Kurt Russell, Zoë Bell, Rosario Dawson, Vanessa Ferlito, Jordan Ladd, Sydney Poitier, Tracie Thoms, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rose McGowan. Death Proof was released theatrically in the United States as part of a double feature with Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror under the title Grindhouse in order to replicate the experience of viewing exploitation films in a "grindhouse" theater.

Grindhouse was released on April 6, 2007. Ticket sales performed significantly below box office analysts' expectations despite strong reviews. In much of the rest of the world, each feature was released separately, with Death Proof screened in an extended version.^[1]^[2] Two soundtracks were also released for the features and include music and audio snippets from the film. Death Proof was released separately on DVD in the United States on September 18, 2007.

Distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures, the film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and earned three other Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Page. The film's soundtrack, featuring several songs performed by Kimya Dawson and her bands Antsy Pants and The Moldy Peaches, was the first number one soundtrack since Dreamgirls and 20th Century Fox's first number one soundtrack since Titanic. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a science fiction comedy film based on the book of the same name by Douglas Adams. Shooting was completed in August 2004 and the movie was released on April 28, 2005 in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, and on the following day in the USA. It was rolled out to cinemas worldwide during May, June, July, August and September.

The screenplay was begun by Adams, and completed by Garth Jennings and Karey Kirkpatrick after Adams's death in 2001, and the film is dedicated "for Douglas."

The girls’ suicides fascinate their community as their neighbors struggle to find an explanation for the acts.

The IT Crowd é uma sitcom britânica criada, escrita e dirigida pelo irlandês Graham Linehan e produzida pelo egípcio Ash Atalla (responsável por The Office) para o Canal 4. Atualmente, uma temporada de seis episódios foi produzida e outra de oito foi encomendada para ser transmitida em breve. A primeira temporada foi gravada diante de uma audiência ao vivo nos Estúdios Teddington, enquanto que a segunda foi gravada nos tradicionais Estúdios Pinewood. Os dois primeiros episódios foram transmitidos para o Reino Unido no dia 3 de fevereiro de 2006. O nome do programa é uma paródia da canção "The 'In' Crowd" (com a sigla "IT" significando tecnologia de informação em inglês) interpretada por Dobie Gray, enfatizando a diferença entre as vidas dos personagens principais e as de uma elite popular e fashion. The IT Crowd foi indicado aos prêmios BAFTA e Rose D'Or 2006 de melhor sitcom.

Com The IT Crowd, o Canal 4 pela primeira vez disponibilizou downloads grátis de um programa antes da transmissão. Os downloads estiveram à disposição dos internautas britânicos no formato Windows Media Video no website oficial do canal durante os sete dias precedentes ao da transmissão de cada episódio. Todos os episódios, com exceção dos dois primeiros, estavam codificados com restrições DRM. O programa atraiu o interesse de comunidades de compartilhamento de softwares ao redor do mundo, o que resultou no crack quase que imediato do DRM protegendo os episódios, espalhando-os por redes de P2P como BitTorrent.
